Πριν από λίγο καιρό είχε διενεργήσει ανάλογη έρευνα, στην οποία ανέδειξε την αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία με τους πιο πιστούς πελάτες στις ΗΠΑ.

Τα αποτελέσματα της νέας έρευνάς της για τα EV, που βασίζονται σε στοιχεία μέχρι και τον Ιούλιο του 2023, έχουν εξαιρετικό ενδιαφέρον και προσφέρονται για διαφορετικές «αναγνώσεις». Η πρώτη ανάγνωση δείχνει θετική, καθώς σχεδόν 3 στα 4 νοικοκυριά (72,6%) που κατέχουν πολυτελή EV επιλέγουν και πάλι ηλεκτρικό αυτοκίνητο στην επόμενη αγορά τους.

Ωστόσο, αν αφαιρέσει κανείς τους κατόχους Tesla, το ποσοστό μειώνεται δραματικά, στο 52,1% μέχρι τον περασμένο Ιούλιο, σύμφωνα με τα στοιχεία πιστότητας της S&P Global Mobility. Αυτό σημαίνει ότι σχεδόν ένας στους δύο (μη κατόχους Tesla) αποσύρει τη «στήριξή» του στα ηλεκτρικά οχήματα και επιλέγει θερμικά (αμιγώς ή υβριδικά) στην επόμενη αγορά του.

Η S&P Global Mobility επισημαίνει ότι το χαμηλό ποσοστό μπορεί να εξηγηθεί μέσω μιας προηγούμενης έρευνας που είχε πραγματοποιήσει, σύμφωνα με την οποία το ενδιαφέρον των καταναλωτών για αγορά EV υποχώρησε στο 52% έναντι 81% το 2021. Τιμή, αυτονομία και υποδομές ήταν οι τρεις σημαντικότεροι λόγοι που είχαν αναδειχθεί ως εξήγηση για τη συγκεκριμένη μείωση.

Τα αποτελέσματα της τρέχουσας έρευνας δείχνουν ότι οι κάτοχοι ηλεκτρικού αυτοκινήτου Nissan έδειξαν τη μεγαλύτερη στήριξη στα EV και για την επόμενη αγορά τους, με 63,2%. Στη δεύτερη θέση ακολούθησε η Chevrolet με 60,6%. Ωστόσο και πάλι διευκρινίζεται ότι αυτό δε σημαίνει ότι αγόρασαν εκ νέου Nissan και Chevrolet, αντίστοιχα, αλλά ότι παρέμειναν στα ηλεκτρικά οχήματα.

Εκτός από την Tesla, αρκετές άλλες πολυτελείς μάρκες βελτίωσαν το ποσοστό πιστότητας των πελατών τους σε EV με τα στοιχεία που υπάρχουν ως το 2ο τρίμηνο του 2023. Αντίθετα, το ποσοστό πιστότητας σε EV από τους κατόχους ηλεκτρικών BMW μειώθηκε σε 45,9% από 46,6%.

Περνώντας στα μοντέλα, τα αποτελέσματα ποικίλουν. Η S&P Global Mobility ενδεικτικά αναφέρει ότι μόνο το 37,3% των νοικοκυριών που κατείχε μία Ford Mustang Mach-E αγόρασε στη συνέχεια και πάλι EV, ενώ το 45,8% επέλεξε βενζινοκίνητο. Ωστόσο ένα μεγάλο μέρος των αγοραστών διάλεξε φορτηγά και SUV της Ford με αμιγώς θερμικά και υβριδικά κινητήρια σύνολα, υποδηλώνοντας ότι ο τύπος και οι ικανότητες των οχημάτων έπαιξαν σημαντικό ρόλο.
