Οι φίλοι της ιστορικής εταιρείας έχουν ένα νέο λόγο να χαίρονται.
Μετά από μια δεκαετία σχεδόν ύπαρξης, το Browning A5 cal.12, αποκτά ένα μικρό “αδελφάκι” στο διαμέτρημα cal.20 Magnum.
Πολλοί θεωρούν ότι το cal. 20 είναι το τέλειο διαμέτρημα καθως συνδυάζει χαμηλό βάρος, μικρότερες διαστάσεις και βαλλιστική επάρκεια.
Από την πρώτη στιγμή που το ανανεωμένο μοντέλο με το βαρύ όνομα επανέκαμψε στη γκάμα, υπήρχε η προσμονή για μια ελαφρότερη, μικρότερου μεγέθους έκδοση.
Επιτέλους
Αντί αυτού, οι Βέλγοι μας “απογοήτευσαν” πριν τέσσερα χρόνια φέρνοντας στην αγορά ένα “μεσοβέζικο” cal.16.
Είναι απορίας άξιο γιατί μπήκαν καν στον κόπο να σχεδιάσουν ένα νέο κορμό για ένα σχεδόν ξεχασμένο διαμέτρημα, του οποίου η δημοτικότητα κορυφώθηκε τη δεκαετία του 1930.
Φαίνεται οτι η νοσταλγική διάθεση του αμερικανικού κοινού της Browning βάρυνε δυσανάλογα στην απόφαση.
Έκεί ο μύθος το “Sweet 16”, κρατά ακόμη.
Αλλά οι μύθοι δε δημιουργούν πωλήσεις και ήρθε η ώρα για ένα μοντέλο που κάνει τη διαφορά, τόσο από πλευράς βάρους, αλλά και διαστάσεων.
Το A5 20 gauge ζυγίζει σύμφωνα με το επίσημο site 2,58Kg.
Μισό κιλό λιγότερο από το cal. 12.
Κάνοντας χρήση της τεχνολογίας Vector Pro και διαθέτοντας διευρυμένο αυλό και θαλάμη “μαγκνουμ” (76mm), δέχεται όλες τις γομώσεις μεταξύ 28 και 32 γραμμαρίων σκαγίων.
Έτσι είναι κατάλληλο για όλα τα φτερωτά θηράματα του ευρωπαϊκού Νότου.
Φαίνεται πως για την ώρα υπάρχει μια μόνη έκδοση με μαύρη αλουμινένια βάση και ξύλινα μέρη από καρυδιά κατηγορίας 2,5.
Στην κορυφή της τεχνολογίας
Η Browning έκανε σοβαρή μελέτη πριν δώσει το όνομα “Α5” σε ένα νέο μοντέλο.
Εγγυόνται το όπλο για 100.000 βολές και αυτό ισχύει και για το “εικοσαράκι”.
Βασίζεται σε ένα μηχανισμό που ονομάζουν Kinematic Drive.
Ο απλούστερος τρόπος να το περιγράψει κανείς είναι ως ένα συνδυασμό: Φανταστείτε μια περιστροφική κεφαλή από Winchester 1200 πάνω σε ένα αδρανειακό κλείστρο Benelli.
Τρείς ογκώδεις προεξοχές κλειδώνουν σε ακτινωτές εσοχές στην περιφέρεια της θαλάμης (το ισχυρότερο σημείο στην κάνη).
Έτσι εξαλείφεται η ανάγκη για “ουρά” δηλαδή την προέκταση μπαγιονέτ που βλέπουμε σε άλλες κάνες.
Καθώς η πίεση από την πυροδότηση αυξάνει, τις σπρώχνει ακόμη σφιχτότερα, εξασφαλίζοντας ότι η θαλάμη παραμένει σφραγισμένει. ;
Όταν οι πιέσεις πέφτούν, η κεφαλή κινείται αντίστροφα.
Το βαρύ, κύριο σώμα του κλείστρου συμπιέζει ένα ισχυρό ελατήριο και ωθείται προς τα πίσω.
Ο κάλυκας απορίπτεται και το κλείστρο αναστρέφει, παρασύροντας το επόμενο φυσίγγιο στη θαλάμη.
Ο συνδυασμός των δύο σχεδίων έχει μερικά πλεονεκτήματα. Παρά το χαμηλό βάρος, το όπλο έχει ηπιότερο λάκτισμα από εκείνα που χρησιμοποιούν την πατέντα του Bruno Civollani.
Μάλλον οφείλεται στη μεγαλύτερη μάζα του κλείστρου και στην καλύτερη κατανομή πιέσεων που επιτυγχάνεται έχοντας ένα κλειδί ανά 120 μοίρες περιμετρικά στην κάνη.
Επίσης η Α5 διαθέτει δύο απορροφητήρες κραδασμών στο τέλος της διαδρομής του κλείστρου και ένα ισχυρό επανατατικό ελατήριο που το επιβραδύνει.
‘Ενα από τα τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά των Browning που βρίσκουμε στο νέο Α5 είναι το Speed Loading.
Όταν το όπλο αδειάσει και το κλείστρο μείνει στην ανοικτή θέση, δε χρειάζεται να γεμιστεί πρώτα η θαλάμη και κατόπιν να πιεστεί ο μοχλός συγκράτησης πριν πληρωθεί και η αποθήκη.
Σπρώχνοντας απλά το πρώτο φυσίγγιο στην αποθήκη μέσα από την θυρίδα πλήρωσης, η θαλάμη θα γεμίσει αυτόματα και το κλείστρο θα έρθει σε θέση ετοιμότητας.
Είναι ταχύτατο και λειτουργεί πολύ απλούστερα από ότι περιγράφεται.
Διευρυμένοι αυλοί
Οι κάνες των Α5 φτίαχνονται με τρυπανισμό, για χαμηλότερο βάρος,
Οι εσωτερικές διαστάσεις είναι πάντα στο μέγιστο των προδιαγραφών του εκάστοτε διαμετρήματος και οι κώνοι προσαρμογής (το μεταβατικό μήκος από τη θαλάμη στον κυρίως αυλό) σχηματίζονται με αμβλεία γωνία.
Σκοπός αυτής της γεωμετρίας είναι η λιγότερη δυνατή παραμόρφωση των σκαγίων κατά το πέρασμα από τη θαλάμη στον αυλό.
Περισσότερα εντελώς σφαιρικά σκάγια σημαίνουν καλύτερη κατανομή στο στόχο.
Η Browning πατεντάρισε αυτή την τεχνολογία ως BackBore πριν τρείς σχεδόν δεκαετίες και βγάζει ακόμη περισσότερο νόημα στα μικρά διαμετρήματα, όπου εξαρχής τα γραμμάρια σκαγίων είναι λιγότερα.
Μια ευχάριστη “παρενέργεια” είναι πως η γεωμετρία του κώνου προσαρμογής μειώνει το λάκτισμα.
Το εσωτερικό των κανών είναι χρωμιωμένο και στο στόμιο τους υπάρχουν επιμηκυμένα τσοκ InvDS.
Μέχρι στιγμής υπάρχουν δύο επιλογές μήκους σε 66 και 71cm.
Αναμονή ενός χρόνου
Όπως αναφέραμε στην εισαγωγή, το όπλο “εικοσάρι” Α5 μόλις έκανε το ντεμπούτο του στην έκθεση SHOT Show 2024. Άρα μπορούμε με βεβαιότητα να αναμένουμε την έλευση του στην Ευρώπη το 2025. Συνήθως η γηραιά ήπειρος έπεται της Αμερικής μια και όσο αφορά τα αυτογεμή, εκεί βρίσκεται η μεγαλύτερη αγορά. Οι λάτρεις του κομψού δισμετρήματος cal. 20 έχουν κάτι νέο να περιμένουν.
