Την ώρα που έλεγε… «ως κίνημα για την κλιματική δικαιοσύνη, πρέπει να ακούμε τις φωνές εκείνων που καταπιέζονται και εκείνων που αγωνίζονται για την ελευθερία και τη δικαιοσύνη. Διαφορετικά, δεν μπορεί να υπάρξει κλιματική δικαιοσύνη χωρίς διεθνή αλληλεγγύη», ένας άνδρας ανέβηκε στη σκηνή και προσπάθησε να της αρπάξει το μικρόφωνο. Από την πλευρά της η Γκρέτα Τούνμπεργκ δεν το άφηνε από τα χέρια της.

«Ήρθα για μια διαδήλωση για το κλίμα, όχι για μια πολιτική άποψη», είπε χαρακτηριστικά. Τότε παρενέβησαν οι ψυχραιμότεροι για να τον κατεβάσουν από τη σκηνή, ενώ το πλήθος τον αποδοκίμασε με τη νεαρή ακτιβίστρια να λέει: «Ηρεμήστε».

Μετά από μια σύντομη παύση η Γκρέτα Τούνμπεργκ άρχισε να φωνάζει: «Όχι κλιματική δικαιοσύνη σε κατεχόμενη γη».

Η ταυτότητα του άνδρα δεν έχει γίνει γνωστή, ωστόσο φορούσε ένα σακάκι με το όνομα μιας ομάδας που ονομάζεται Water Natuurlijk και έχει εκλεγμένα μέλη σε ολλανδικά συμβούλια για τη διαχείριση των υδάτων.
