Σε μια εποχή που τα περιβαλλοντικά ζητήματα εκμεταλλεύονται οι τσαρλατάνοι και άλλοι «φλαουτίστες» για να ολοκληρώσουν τον ξεριζωμό των λαών, ο Dominique Venner μας προσφέρει εδώ έναν βαθύ προβληματισμό για τη σχέση του Ευρωπαίου ανθρώπου με την άγρια ​​φύση.

Σεπτέμβριος. Η παρθένα θεά καλεί. Ο βασιλιάς του δάσους ηχεί την πλάκα του, απειλώντας τα ανυπόμονα νεαρά ελάφια, καλώντας τους αντιπάλους του σε μάχη. Σε αυτό το βαθύ και δυνατό κάλεσμα απαντούν οι δυνατές και φοβισμένες φωνές κάποιων και οι βαθύτερες και αλαζονικές άλλων, που όλες είναι εξίσου επιθετικές. Ο χυμός που ρέει και βράζει στις φλέβες τους, φουσκώνει τις καρδιές τους και τις γεμίζει οργή. Ο πιο τολμηρός από τους αντιπάλους προσεγγίζει. Σύντομα αντηχεί η σύγκρουση των ξύλων, κέρατο με κέρατο. Μία, δύο, τρεις φορές τα δύο μεγάλα ζώα διασταυρώνουν τα ξίφη τους, χωρίς να υπολογίζουν τα σημάδια, τα ωθήματα, τις πληγές, μερικές φορές τον θάνατο. Η ζωή διατάζει, επιβλητική.

Σε όσους τολμήσουν να μπουν στα ιερά των αγίων, με οδηγό εκείνους που γνωρίζουν το μυστικό του μεγάλου δάσους, θα δοθεί ίσως να νιώσουν σωματικά αυτή τη βάναυση δύναμη, αυτή την καθαρή έκφραση της αγριότητας. Θα βγει από αυτό δοκιμασμένος, συγκινημένος στα βάθη της ψυχής από αυτή την εμπειρία όπου η φύση αποκαλύπτεται, χωρίς πέπλο, στη βία και την ομορφιά της. Αν το κομμάτι της αγριότητας μέσα του δεν έχει εξαλειφθεί τελείως, δεν έχει εκμηδενιστεί από την άσφαλτο, το iPhone και άλλα τεχνάσματα της νεωτερικότητας, θα αντιληφθεί τη χάρη της στιγμής και την αξία της αιωνιότητας. Αν η φλόγα έχει μείνει μέσα του και δεν έχει πνιγεί, θα τον κερδίσει ο πυρετός του κυνηγιού και θα επιθυμεί διακαώς, πρωτόγονα να πάρει μέρος στην αναζήτηση, να βρει τη θέση του στον κύκλο της φύσης.

Ο Dominique Venner ήταν κυνηγός και ένας από αυτούς τους μυημένους: πριν μας πάει στο δάσος, μας δίνει, σε αυτή τη συνεισφορά στο συμπόσιο που διοργάνωσε η γαλλική αντιπροσωπεία του Διεθνούς Συμβουλίου για το Κυνήγι και τη Διατήρηση Θηρών (Rambouillet, 24 Νοεμβρίου 2006 ) με θέμα «Το κυνήγι, το τελευταίο καταφύγιο της άγριας φύσης; » ένας βαθύς προβληματισμός για τη σχέση του Ευρωπαίου ανθρώπου με την άγρια ​​φύση. Σε μια εποχή που τα περιβαλλοντικά ζητήματα εκμεταλλεύονται οι τσαρλατάνοι και άλλοι πολτοπαραγωγοί για να ολοκληρώσουν τον ξεριζωμό των λαών, θα διατηρήσουμε ιδιαίτερα το συμπέρασμά του: «στην πραγματικότητα, αυτό που μισεί συχνά ο «σύγχρονος» άνθρωπος στον κυνηγό, χωρίς να κατανοεί το πραγματικό, το αληθινό. Οι λόγοι για την απέχθειά του, είναι το μερίδιο της ζωότητας, της αληθινής φύσης και της αγριότητας που διατηρείται ακόμα σε όσους αφοσιώνονται στην αμνημονεύσιμη πρακτική του κυνηγιού».

Φύση, μια ωραία λέξη και συχνά μια ψευδαίσθηση! Τι ακριβώς είναι λοιπόν; Το τριαντάφυλλο, που ανθίζει σήμερα το πρωί στον κήπο μου, είναι φύση; Ναι και ΟΧΙ. Ναι, για αυτό το λόγο θα μπορούσε ίσως να ζήσει και να ανανεωθεί χωρίς τη βοήθειά μου. Όχι, στο βαθμό που είναι «παραγωγή» λόγιων κηπουρών, χωρίς τους οποίους δεν θα ήταν αυτό που είναι. Τι είναι λοιπόν η φύση; Απάντηση: είναι αυτό που υπάρχει και ζει από μόνη της, χωρίς ανθρώπινη παρέμβαση ή παρά το γεγονός αυτό. Σύμφωνα με τον ορισμό του Αριστοτέλη, είναι αυτό που κατέχει από μόνο του την αρχή του γίγνεσθαι. Ο άνεμος, οι παλίρροιες, οι οχιές, οι μπεκάτσες, τα ελάφια, οι σφήκες, οι αλεπούδες, οι ερημιές, η απορροή του νερού μετά τη βροχή είναι της φύσης. Αλλά ούτε η συστάδα των τριαντάφυλλων, ούτε το χωράφι με διαγονιδιακό σιτάρι, ούτε ο απολυμασμένος οπωρώνας δεν είναι πλέον εξ ολοκλήρου μέρος της φύσης και θα είναι όλο και λιγότερο. Είναι εξημερωμένης φύσης, σε μια σταγόνα, το μόνο που ανέχεται ο άνθρωπος.

Μέρα με τη μέρα, οι ερευνητές διεισδύουν σε νέα μυστικά, αντικαθιστώντας τη φύση για να την εκμεταλλευτούν, να την περιορίσουν ή να την αλλάξουν. Χθες, κλωνοποίηση προβάτου, σήμερα γονιμοποίηση ποντικού χωρίς πατέρα… Είναι ενδιαφέρον να μάθουμε με ποια νοητική διαδικασία φτάσαμε σε αυτό το σημείο. Για αυτό μπορούμε να αναφερθούμε στη μελέτη του Pierre Hadot, The Veil of Isis. Δοκίμιο για την ιδέα της Φύσης (Gallimard, 2004). Αυτή η μελέτη διερευνά την αντίθετη ιδέα που είχαν οι Ευρωπαίοι για τη Φύση εδώ και 3.000 χρόνια. Ας θυμηθούμε ότι ο Pierre Hadot ήταν κάτοχος της έδρας της αρχαίας φιλοσοφίας στο Collège de France, συγγραφέας μεταξύ άλλων της Φιλοσοφίας ως τρόπου ζωής (Pocket Book, 2003).

Στο Πέπλο της Ίσιδας, για να εξηγήσει τη σχέση μας με την ιδέα της φύσης, ο Pierre Hadot εξετάζει τις διαδοχικές ερμηνείες που δίνονται στον περίφημο αφορισμό του Ηράκλειτου: «Στη φύση αρέσει να κρύβεται». Η εξέταση αυτή ξεκινά με τον Όμηρο, δύο τουλάχιστον αιώνες πριν από τον Ηράκλειτο. Είναι πράγματι στην Οδύσσεια που βρίσκουμε για πρώτη φορά τη λέξη και την έννοια της φύσης που οι Έλληνες ονομάζουν physis (από την οποία προέρχεται η φυσική). Στον Όμηρο και στην ελληνική σκέψη πριν από τον Πλάτωνα, η λέξη physis (φύση) δηλώνει τη ζωτική δύναμη του σύμπαντος και της ζωής».
