Το Μουσείο είναι αφιερωμένο στις πρώτες 12 μέρες του Ελληνοϊταλικού πολέμου.

Στον προαύλιο χώρο του Μουσείου ο επισκέπτης έχει την ευκαιρία να δει βαρέα όπλα του πυροβολικού που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν στον Ελληνοϊταλικό Πόλεμο.

Στο εσωτερικό του Μουσείου, υφίστανται εντυπωσιακά εκθέματα που θα ταξιδέψουν τους επισκέπτες στον χρόνο, όπως ελληνικά και ιταλικά πολυβόλα όπλα, η μηχανή του αεροπλάνου του Υποσμηναγού Ιωάννη Σακελλαρίου που κατέπεσε ηρωικά στον πόλεμο, στρατιωτικές ενδυμασίες ηρώων Ελλήνων αξιωματικών και στρατιωτών, ελληνικά και ιταλικά τυφέκια – όπλα εποχής, ελληνικά και ιταλικά μετάλλια, στρατιωτικό ποδήλατο με ρόδες από καουτσούκ που χρησιμοποιούσαν οι Ιταλοί στρατιώτες, πλούσιο φωτογραφικό υλικό και άλλα πολλά και ενδιαφέροντα εκθέματα. Τέλος η παρουσίαση συνοδεύεται από μία ιδιαίτερα ενδιαφέρουσα προβολή ιστορικού ντοκιμαντέρ με ταυτόχρονη γραφική και ηχητική αναπαράσταση των στρατιωτικών επιχειρήσεων κατά τις πρώτες μέρες του πολέμου σε μεγάλο τρισδιάστατο χάρτη.

Απέναντι από το Μουσείο βρίσκονται οι ανδριάντες του Πρωθυπουργού της Ελλάδας I. Μεταξά , που συνέδεσε το όνομά του με το “ΟΧΙ” του Ελληνικού λαού απέναντι στην αξίωση των Ιταλών για άνευ όρων παράδοση της Χώρας μας, του Βασιλέως Γεωργίου του Β’ και του Αρχιστράτηγου Παπάγου.

Σε πολύ κοντινή απόσταση από το Μουσείο Πολέμου 1940-41 βρίσκεται η σπηλιά την οποία το 1940 ο Διοικητής της 8ης Μεραρχίας Χαράλαμπος Κατσιμήτρου χρησιμοποιούσε ως τακτικό στρατηγείο.

Πάνω από τον οικισμό του Καλπακίου και στον λόφο Σειλητούρια δεσπόζει το γιγάντιο μπρούτζινο άγαλμα του πολεμιστή στρατιώτη του ’40, το μνημείο του “Έλλην Μαχητή του 1940-41” που στέκει επιβλητικό κι αγέρωχο κοιτώντας προς το μέτωπο των εχθροπραξιών. Φιλοτεχνήθηκε από τον καθηγητή Λάμερα Λάζαρο το 1966.
