Μιλώντας για πλαστικά μέρη, πέρα από το κλασσικό μαύρο που έδωσε το όνομα του στο μοντέλο, πλέον υπάρχουν και μια σειρά από διασπαστικά σχέδια παραλλαγής (MAX5, Mossy Oak, Optifade) που ενισχύουν το καμουφλάζ.
Οι επιλογές κανών είναι μεταξύ 66, 71 και 76 εκατοστών πάντα με αεριζόμενη ρίγα σκόπευσης που διαθέτει ένα χαρακτηριστικό “σκαλοπάτι”. Οι κάνες είναι τεχνολογίας Crio (μια διαδικασία βαθειάς ψύξης η οποία υποτίθεται πως αδρανοποιεί τις τάσεις του μετάλλου από την επεξεργασία)και εξοπλίζονται με βιδωτά τσοκ. Το βάρος αγγίζει τα 3,2 κιλά με τη μεσαία κάνη.
Μηχανικές και εργονομικές βελτιώσεις
Το SBE3 βασίζεται στο μηχανισμό Inertia Drive που κινεί όλα σχεδόν τα Benelli.
Είναι απλός και αξιόπιστος με λίγα κινούμενα μέρη.
Βασίζεται στην ώθηση που δίνει στην κεφαλή του κλείστρου η ανάκρουση από το φυσίγγιο. Εδώ οι μηχανικοί έχουν προσθέσει μια νέα πατέντα, το Easy Locking: διευκολύνει το σώμα του κλείστρου να επιστρέφει κάθε φορά στη σωστή θέση, αποφεύγοντας την ενοχλητική εμπλοκή.
Αφού το όπλο προορίζεται κυρίως για κυνήγια σε βάλτο, όπου τα χοντρά γάντια μειώνουν την αίσθηση αφής, το SBE3 διαθέτει μεγάλα χειριστήρια. Οι μοχλοί όπλισης και απελευθέρωσης του κλείστρου έχουν μεγαλώσει και είναι ευκολότερα διαχειρίσιμοι. Ειδικά ο τελευταίος έχει τη μορφή ενός επιμήκη διακόπτη, αντί για το μικρό στρογγυλό κουμπί που βρίσκαμε στα παλαιότερα μοντέλα.
Η ασφάλεια βρίσκεται στη δεξιά πλευρά της σκανδάλης και είναι επίσης υπερμεγέθης ώστε να γίνεται αισθητή με το γαντοφορεμένο δείκτη.
Με το ίδιο σκεπτικό, η είσοδος των φυσιγγίων στο κάτω μέρος της μπάσκουλας έχει διευρυνθεί. Τα μεγάλα φυσίγγια των 89mm απαιτούν πολύ χώρο και δεν υπάρχει τίποτε χειρότερο από τα ακροδάκτυλα ενός γαντιού που έχει σκαλώσει μεταξύ φορέα τροφοδοσίας και αποθήκης. Η Benelli αφαίρεσε ένα “γενναίο” τμήμα από την περιφέρεια της ράμπας τροφοδοσίας, διευκολύνοντας τη διαδικασία ακόμη και “στα τυφλά”.
