Οι λέξεις Super Black Eagle έχουν ιδιαίτερη βαρύτητα ατην ιστορία της Benelli. Ο πρώτος “Μαύρος Αετός”, όπως είναι γνωστός στη χώρα μας παρουσιάστηκε πριν 30 σχεδόν χρόνια και κυριολεκτικά τάραξε τα νερά στα κυνηγοτόπια των υδρόβιων θηραμάτων. Επέβαλλε μια σειρά ασυνήθιστων χαρακτηριστικών που πλέον θεωρούμε δεδομένα: χρήση συνθετικών υλικών σε κοντάκι και ξυστό, αντιδιαβρωτική βαφή στα μέταλλα και χαμηλό για τα τότε δεδομένα βάρος. Το κυριότερο όμως ήταν η χρήση του φυσιγγίου cal. 12 “Super Magnum”. Ο επιμηκυμένος κάλυκας των 89mm αύξησε το φορτίο των σκαγίων που το όπλο έστελνε στο στόχο, εκτοπίζοντας τελικά το μεγαλύτερο διαμέτρημα cal. 10. To SBE ήταν το πρώτο εμπορικά επιτυχημένο τουφέκι στην κατηγορία και η επιτυχία του εδραίωσε τη Benelli ως παγκόσμια φίρμα.

Καιρός για αλλαγή

Ο χρόνος κυλά και πλέον βρισκόμαστε στην τρίτη γενιά SBE3, η οποία βελτιώνει πάνω στις υπάρχουσες γραμμές.
Το όπλο πάντα φτιάχνεται γύρω από cal, 12/89mm, αλλά πλέον υπάρχουν δύο ακόμη επιλογές: cal. 20 magnum και το “ανέλπιστο” cal. 28 magnum (που ο όμιλος Beretta προωθεί σε συνεργασία με τη Fiocchi).
Η χωρητικότητα της κυλινδρικής αποθήκης είναι 2 φυσίγγια Super Magnum ή τρία των 76mm.
Τα πλαστικά μέρη έχουν βελτιωθεί για καλύτερη πρόσφυση -κάτι σημαντικό στον υδροβιότοπο όπου η βροχή και τα παγωμένα χέρια είναι τα αναμενόμενα- και το σύστημα μείωσης της ανάκρουσης Comfortech είναι στάνταρ.
Μια σειρά από ελαστικούς συνδέσμους απορροφούν το έντονο λάκτισμα από τις βαρύτερες γομώσεις, εκτρέποντας το μακρυά από το μάγουλο του κυνηγού.
Μιλώντας για πλαστικά μέρη, πέρα από το κλασσικό μαύρο που έδωσε το όνομα του στο μοντέλο, πλέον υπάρχουν και μια σειρά από διασπαστικά σχέδια παραλλαγής (MAX5, Mossy Oak, Optifade) που ενισχύουν το καμουφλάζ.
Οι επιλογές κανών είναι μεταξύ 66, 71 και 76 εκατοστών πάντα με αεριζόμενη ρίγα σκόπευσης που διαθέτει ένα χαρακτηριστικό “σκαλοπάτι”. Οι κάνες είναι τεχνολογίας Crio (μια διαδικασία βαθειάς ψύξης η οποία υποτίθεται πως αδρανοποιεί τις τάσεις του μετάλλου από την επεξεργασία)και εξοπλίζονται με βιδωτά τσοκ. Το βάρος αγγίζει τα 3,2 κιλά με τη μεσαία κάνη.

Μηχανικές και εργονομικές βελτιώσεις

Το SBE3 βασίζεται στο μηχανισμό Inertia Drive που κινεί όλα σχεδόν τα Benelli.
Είναι απλός και αξιόπιστος με λίγα κινούμενα μέρη.
Βασίζεται στην ώθηση που δίνει στην κεφαλή του κλείστρου η ανάκρουση από το φυσίγγιο. Ένα δευτερεύον παράπονο για τη λειτουργία του είναι η τάση να “ξεκλειδώνει” το κλείστρο όταν το όπλο δεχτεί έντονο κραδασμό, ενώ βρίσκεται σε κάθετη θέση. Αυτό καταλήγει σε αφλογιστία, η οποία για να θεραπευτεί απαιτεί ένα απότομο σπρώξιμο με την παλάμη του χρήστη, το οποίο θα οδηγήσει την κεφαλή στη σωστή θέση. Εδώ οι μηχανικοί έχουν προσθέσει μια νέα πατέντα, το Easy Locking: διευκολύνει το σώμα του κλείστρου να επιστρέφει κάθε φορά στη σωστή θέση, αποφεύγοντας την ενοχλητική εμπλοκή.
Αφού το όπλο προορίζεται κυρίως για κυνήγια σε βάλτο, όπου τα χοντρά γάντια μειώνουν την αίσθηση αφής, το SBE3 διαθέτει μεγάλα χειριστήρια. Οι μοχλοί όπλισης και απελευθέρωσης του κλείστρου έχουν μεγαλώσει και είναι ευκολότερα διαχειρίσιμοι. Ειδικά ο τελευταίος έχει τη μορφή ενός επιμήκη διακόπτη, αντί για το μικρό στρογγυλό κουμπί που βρίσκαμε στα παλαιότερα μοντέλα.
Η ασφάλεια βρίσκεται στη δεξιά πλευρά της σκανδάλης και είναι επίσης υπερμεγέθης ώστε να γίνεται αισθητή με το γαντοφορεμένο δείκτη.
Με το ίδιο σκεπτικό, η είσοδος των φυσιγγίων στο κάτω μέρος της μπάσκουλας έχει διευρυνθεί. Τα μεγάλα φυσίγγια των 89mm απαιτούν πολύ χώρο και δεν υπάρχει τίποτε χειρότερο από τα ακροδάκτυλα ενός γαντιού που έχει σκαλώσει μεταξύ φορέα τροφοδοσίας και αποθήκης. Η Benelli αφαίρεσε ένα “γενναίο” τμήμα από την περιφέρεια της ράμπας τροφοδοσίας, διευκολύνοντας τη διαδικασία ακόμη και “στα τυφλά”.
Το σχήμα της λαβής έχει επίσης βελτιωθεί με εντονότερη κλίση στο πιστολέ και φαρδύτερη περιφέρεια, ώστε να συγκρατεί καλύτερα την παλάμη κόντρα στην ανάκρουση. Αντίθετα, ο ξυστός (πάπια) είναι λεπτότερο σε σχέση με το μοντέλο που αντικαθιστά.
