Η κλιματική «κρίση» και ο τουρισμός
Μήπως όμως οι εικόνες καταστροφής είναι απαραίτητες προκειμένου να υπάρχει ένας «μπαμπούλας» που θα προωθήσει την χρήση τεχνολογιών που σε άλλη περίπτωση θα θεωρούνταν ασύμφορες;

Άκουγα πριν από λίγες ημέρες στο «εκρηκτικό δελτίο» του ΑΡΤ έναν εκ των αρχόντων της τοπικής αυτοδιοίκησης της Ρόδου. Ο οποίος προσπαθώντας να εξηγήσει την κατάσταση στο νησί, ισχυρίσθηκε ότι αυτή ήταν μια «ύπουλη φωτιά» η οποία ξεκινά «έρποντας» και μπορεί να μην την πάρει χαμπάρι κανείς για κάποιες ημέρες μέχρι να φουντώσει.
Μου έκανε ιδιαίτερη εντύπωση ο συγκεκριμένος ισχυρισμός, με δεδομένο ότι ζούμε στην εποχή των drones και των δορυφόρων που σε πραγματικό χρόνο μπορούν να αποτυπώσουν τα πάντα.
Όσο εμείς στέλνουμε air tractors να «περιπολούν», στον κόσμο δοκιμάζονται προγράμματα τεχνητής νοημοσύνης τα οποία έχουν την δυνατότητα να εντοπίζουν ανθρώπους μέσα σε δάση, χωρίς να χρειάζεται να τα καθοδηγεί κάποιος χειριστής. Είμαι βέβαιος ότι θα υπήρχε η δυνατότητα επιτήρησης για κάποιους τουλάχιστον μήνες των δασικών εκτάσεων νησιών με τέτοιου είδους συστήματα για προστασία από τις πυρκαγιές και όχι μόνον.
Οι στενάχωρες εικόνες της Ρόδου, που είναι σίγουρο πλέον ότι θα αποτυπωθούν και στον τουριστικό τομέα, όχι μόνον φέτος αλλά και τα επόμενα χρόνια αφού κάνουν ήδη τον γύρο του κόσμου, γίνονται ακόμη πιο δύσκολες όταν γνωρίζεις ότι θα μπορούσαν να αποφευχθούν.
Μπορεί η κυβέρνηση και τα συστημικά μέσα ενημέρωσης να έχουν κάνει την «κλιματική κρίση» το παραβάν πίσω από το οποίο επιχειρούν να κρύψουν τις πομπές τους, η αλήθεια όμως είναι ότι πολλά από αυτά που βλέπουμε τα τελευταία χρόνια στο μέτωπο των πυρκαγιών θα μπορούσαν να είχαν αποφευχθεί με μια ορθολογική αντιμετώπιση του φαινομένου.
Το ζήτημα των πυρκαγιών δεν μπορεί να λυθεί απλά πετώντας λεφτά σε αυτόν όπως φαίνεται να πιστεύουν κάποιοι στο επιτελικό κράτος. Δεν είναι απλά πόσα εναέρια μέσα έχουμε και πόσους πυροσβέστες. Είναι τι κάνουν αυτά τα μέσα, είναι το τι μπορούν να κάνουν αυτοί οι πυροσβέστες, οι οποίοι τον χειμώνα αντί να εκπαιδεύονται στα δάση, απεγκλωβίζουν ανθρώπους από ασανσέρ και καθαρίζουν πλημμυρισμένα υπόγεια.
Χρειάζεται οργάνωση, πρόληψη και σοβαρή επένδυση σε τεχνολογίες αιχμής που θα επιτρέψουν την άμεση αντιμετώπισή τους. Χρειάζεται εκπαίδευση των ανθρώπων, χρειάζεται αξιολόγηση των μηχανισμών στους οποίους ανήκουν και αξιοποίηση των δυνατοτήτων τους.
Δεν μπορεί ένα νησί όπως η Ρόδος, που είναι στην πρώτη γραμμή της τουριστικής βιομηχανίας αλλά και ταυτόχρονα στα ανατολικά σύνορα της χώρας μας να καίγεται έτσι, επί ημέρες. Να μην υπάρχουν όλες οι απαραίτητες υποδομές ώστε πυρκαγιές και οτιδήποτε άλλο χρειαστεί να αντιμετωπίζεται άμεσα.
Το κόστος της μη ορθολογικής αντιμετώπισης του προβλήματος θα είναι τεράστιο και έχει ήδη αρχίσει να φαίνεται. Οι εκκενώσεις δεκάδων χιλιάδων ανθρώπων, όσο οργανωμένα και εάν γίνονται, ακόμη και εάν επιτευχθεί ο στόχος του να μην υπάρχουν θύματα, σίγουρα θα αποθαρρύνουν στο μέλλον τουρίστες από το να επισκεφθούν την χώρα μας.
Εάν δεν αφήσουμε στην άκρη τις δικαιολογίες περί «κλιματικής κρίσης» που στοχεύουν μόνον στην ύπαρξη μιας «δικαιολογίας» για τον κρατικό μηχανισμό και δεν επενδύσουμε στην προστασία της χώρα μας, είναι βέβαιο ότι ακόμη και η βιομηχανία του τουρισμού, μια από τις ελάχιστες εναπομείνασες στην χώρα θα δεχθεί καίρια πλήγματα.
Εκτός και εάν η «κλιματική κρίση» αποτελεί ταυτόχρονα και μια «ευκαιρία» προκειμένου να επιτευχθούν «στόχοι» όπως η μετάβαση σε συγκεκριμένες τεχνολογίες οι οποίες θα κρίνονταν μάλλον «ασύμφορες» εάν δεν υπήρχε κάποιος «μπαμπούλας» όπως αυτός. Και είναι τα κέρδη κάποιων λίγων, που για να μεγιστοποιηθούν πρέπει να έχουμε τέτοιου είδους καταστροφές.
