Η αφρικανική πανώλη των χοίρων, η οποία πρωτοεμφανίστηκε στη Βουλγαρία πριν από τρία χρόνια, απειλεί κτηνοτροφικές μονάδες στην βόρεια Ελλάδα, οι οποίες σταδιακά κλείνουν.

Τέσσερις κτηνοτροφικές μονάδες στις Σέρρες και μία στη Ροδόπολη, ήδη καταστράφηκαν δύο μήνες πριν.

Ιδιαίτερη ανησυχία υπάρχει και για τον μαύρο χοίρο, καθώς πρόκειται για σπάνιο είδος και σε περίπτωση απώλειας χοιρομητέρων θα είναι δύσκολο να αντικατασταθούν.

Μιλώντας στην εκπομπή Κοινωνία Ώρα MEGA, o κτηνοτρόφος Γιώργος Γιωρούδης αναφέρθηκε στον κίνδυνο που αντιμετωπίζουν οι κτηνοτροφικές μονάδες.

Μάλιστα, όπως ανέφερε ο κτηνοτρόφος «κάποιοι νομοί είναι σε καραντίνα αυτή την στιγμή, οι Σέρρες και το Κιλκίς».
