Φωτογραφίες που μας έστειλε φίλος αναγνώστης δείχνουν σε προάστιο της Αττικής αλεπούδες μέσα στο σπίτι. Κυριολεκτικά έχει γεμίσει ο τόπος. Επειδή υπάρχει υποκαταγραφή, θα πρέπει όλοι να προσέχουμε τη λύσσα! Ειδικά αν έχουμε κατοικίδια που μπορεί έστω και σε αυλή σπιτιού να έρχονται σε επαφή με αλεπούδες! Οι Κυνηγετικοί Σύλλογοι έχουν δώσει αγώνες για την ενημέρωση των πολιτών, κυρίως μέσω φυλλαδίων!

Ο ιός υπάρχει στο σάλιο των μολυσμένων ζώων και μπορεί να μεταδοθεί και στον άνθρωπο.

Η πρόληψη σώζει ζωές. Εμβολιάστε τα κατοικίδιά σας.

Σύμφωνα με το υπουργείο Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης, για το 99% των ανθρώπων που πεθαίνουν παγκοσμίως από λύσσα, ο θάνατος  οφείλεται σε δάγκωμα σκύλου.

Κύριος φορέας του ιού της λύσσας στην Ευρώπη είναι η αλεπού, η οποία μπορεί να μολύνει άγρια ζώα και κατοικίδια θηλαστικά, ιδιαίτερα σκύλους και γάτες.

«Η λύσσα είναι ιογενές νόσημα του κεντρικού νευρικού συστήματος. Είναι μια λοιμώδης ασθένεια που προκαλείται από διηθητό ιό. Ο ιός της λύσσας βρίσκεται στο σάλιο που μολυσμένου ζώου και μεταδίδεται στον άνθρωπο αν τον δαγκώσει ή το υγρό έρθει σε επαφή με περιοχή του σώματος που έχει πληγή.

Ο ιός μεταναστεύει από την πύλη εισόδου του στον εγκέφαλο του ασθενούς.

Στον άνθρωπο, η περίοδος επωάσεως κυμαίνεται από 20 έως 40 ημέρες, ενώ στα ζώα από 15 έως 30 ημέρες.

Κατά το διάστημα αυτό, δεν εκδηλώνονται, συνήθως, κλινικά συμπτώματα.

Από τη στιγμή που ο ασθενής, ο οποίος έχει προσβληθεί από τον ιό της λύσσας, παρουσιάσει κλινικά συμπτώματα δεν υπάρχει ελπίδα σωτηρίας. Ο θάνατος θα επέλθει μετά από λίγες ημέρες», επισημαίνει ο κτηνίατρος, Λάζαρος Καρανάσιος και συμπληρώνει: «Σύμφωνα με τον Πανελλήνιο Κτηνιατρικό Σύλλογο, η λύσσα είναι μια θανατηφόρος ζωοανθρωπονόσος, που οφείλεται σε στελέχη του ραβδοϊού Lyssavirus.

Ποια είναι τα δείγματα ενός μολυσμένου ζώου

Ένας σκύλος, που δεν είναι εμβολιασμένος, και προσληφθεί από τον ίο, θα παρουσιάσει αλλαγή στη συμπεριφορά του, νευρικότητα, και θα περιφέρεται ανήσυχος, χωρίς συγκεκριμένο λόγο. Στη συνέχεια η συμπεριφορά του θα γίνει, άκρως, επιθετική και από το στόμα του θα βγάζει σάλια.

Στην επόμενη φάση θα παρουσιάσει σπασμούς και παράλυση του σώματος και θα επέλθει ο θάνατος.

Ποια είναι τα μέτρα αντιμετώπισης της νόσου

  •  Σήμανση, καταγραφή και υποχρεωτικός ετήσιος προληπτικός αντιλυσσικός εμβολιασμός όλων των δεσποζόμενων σκύλων και γατών με ευθύνη των ιδιοκτητών τους.
  •  Έλεγχος του αριθμού των αδέσποτων σκύλων και γατών, με ευθύνη των Οργανισμών Τοπικής Αυτοδιοίκησης.
  • Οι κάτοικοι οφείλουν να αναφέρουν αμέσως στις αρμόδιες αρχές, κάθε περίπτωση δαγκώματος σε ανθρώπους ή άλλα ζώα.
  • Ιδιαίτερη προσοχή απαιτείται από όσους εργάζονται κοντά σε ζώα-θεωρούνται ομάδα υψηλού κινδύνου- και πρέπει να εμβολιάζονται, προληπτικά, κατά της λύσσας.
  • Για περιστατικά που κατοικίδια ζώα έχουν δαγκώσει άνθρωπο, πρέπει να ενημερώνονται άμεσα οι αρμόδιες Αρχές -Κτηνιατρική Υπηρεσία, Αστυνομία-, και, εάν είναι δεσποζόμενα, εμβολιασμένα ή μη, πρέπει να απομονώνονται και να παρακολουθούνται από κτηνίατρο για 15 ημέρες, για, τυχόν, εκδήλωση συμπτωμάτων. Αν είναι αδέσποτα, καλό είναι να γίνει μια, κατά το δυνατόν, ακριβής περιγραφή του ζώου, αλλά και της τοποθεσίας, όπου έγινε η επαφή ανθρώπου-ζώου, έτσι ώστε να εντοπιστεί το ζώο και να επιχειρηθεί η σύλληψη, ο περιορισμός και η παρακολούθησή του.
  • Αν ένας πολίτης εντοπίσει ένα νεκρό άγριο σαρκοφάγο ζώο στο περιβάλλον, θα πρέπει να αποφύγει την μετακίνησή του και την οποιαδήποτε επαφή μαζί του και να ειδοποιήσει άμεσα τις Αρμόδιες Αρχές. Στην περίπτωση που το ζώο είναι ζωντανό να μην έρθει σε άμεση επαφή μαζί του (παροχή τροφής, χάιδεμα ή προσπάθεια σύλληψής του).
  • Σε ό,τι αφορά τα παραγωγικά ζώα, (βοοειδή, αιγοπρόβατα, χοίροι κλπ.), ο κίνδυνος έκθεσής τους στη νόσο, αφορά, κυρίως, αγελαία ζώα, ή όσα βόσκουν εκτός στάβλου – σε ενσταβλισμένα ζώα η πιθανότητα είναι μικρή»
