Πλήθος κόσμου παρακολούθησε και φέτος την αναβίωση της ιστορικής μάχης των Οχυρών Ρούπελ 1941, που διοργάνωσαν ο δήμος Σιντικής, η Σιντική ΔΑΕ, η «Στενωπός» και η ΑΠΟΔΡΑΣΙ, με την αιγίδα και την υποστήριξη των υπουργείων Εθνικής Άμυνας και Εσωτερικών, της Περιφέρειας Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας, της ΚΕΔΕ και της Επιτροπής «Ελλάδα 2021».

Στόχος της εκδήλωσης είναι η διατήρηση της ιστορικής μνήμης.

Οι θεατές είχαν την ευκαιρία να ζήσουν από κοντά τη μεγαλειώδη στιγμή της Ελληνικής ιστορίας και να ακούσουν την αποστομωτική απάντηση του τότε Διοικητή Αντισυνταγματάρχη Γεωργίου Δουράτσου: «Τα οχυρά δεν παραδίδονται! Καταλαμβάνονται», προκαλώντας ρίγη συγκίνησης.

Στην εντυπωσιακή Αναβίωση συνδράμουν εθελοντές από Ελλάδα, Βουλγαρία και Ρουμανία, ειδικά οπτικά και ηχητικά εφέ, οχήματα και στολές της εποχής, πτήσεις αεροσκαφών, ελεγχόμενες εκρήξεις, αφηγήσεις και διάλογοι, δίνοντας την πιστή αναβίωση των γεγονότων του 1941.

Συνολικά συμμετείχαν  πάνω από 90 άτομα.

Τιμώμενος ήρωας φέτος είναι ο αείμνηστος Διοικητής του Οχυρού Κελκάγια στο όρος Μπέλλες, Τηλέμαχος Ζακινθυνός, ο οποίος έφυγε από την ζωή το 1978. Μάλιστα απονεμήθηκε και τιμητική πλακέτα σε απόγονο του Διοικητή από τον Δήμαρχο Σιντικής.

Δυστυχώς λόγω των αντίξοων καιρικών συνθηκών το καταδιωκτικό αεροσκάφος Spitfire δεν κατάφερε να πετάξει στον Σερραϊκό ουρανό.
