Η ίδια σημείωσε ότι ο ιδρυτής των ΗΑΕ ήταν αυτός που ξεκίνησε καινοτόμες πρωτοβουλίες για να προστατεύσει την τέχνη αυτή και να ενώσει τους ιερακοθήρες σε παγκόσμια κλίμακα. Η φιλοσοφία και ο τρόπος ζωής του αείμνηστου Sheikh Zayed ήταν η ισορροπία του ανθρώπου με τη φύση, τη βιοποικιλότητα και την αειφόρο χρήση των φυσικών πόρων, ανέφερε χαρακτηριστικά, επισημαίνοντας πως στο πλαίσιο αυτό, ίδρυσε το Νοσοκομείο Γερακιών στο Άμπου Ντάμπι, το μεγαλύτερο νοσοκομείο γερακιών στον κόσμο, οργάνωσε το 1974 το 1ο παγκόσμιο φεστιβάλ ιερακοθηρίας συγκεντρώνοντας όλους τους ιερακοθήρες του κόσμου και ίδρυσε το International Fund for Houbara Conservation.
Συνεχιστής της κληρονομιάς αυτής είναι ο σεΐχης Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Πρόεδρος των ΗΑΕ και κυβερνήτης του Abu Dhabi, ιδρύοντας δύο διεθνή χρηματοδοτικά ταμεία: το Species Conservation Fund και το Raptor Conservation Fund. Της Παγκόσμιας Ομοσπονδίας Ιερακοθηρίας και Διατήρησης Αρπακτικών Πτηνών ηγείται ο H.E. Majeed Al Mansouri, συνεχίζοντας το έργο του ιδρυτή των ΗΑΕ.
Το Νοσοκομείο Γερακιών του Ντουμπάι είναι παγκοσμίως το πρώτο νοσοκομείο γερακιών που ιδρύθηκε το 1983 από τον αντιβασιλέα του Ντουμπάι και συνυδριτή των ΗΑΕ, τον σεϊχή Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ο οποίος όσο ήταν στη ζωή είχε συμβάλει τα μέγιστα στην ιατρική γνώση και διατήρηση των αρπακτικών πτηνών.
Στη σχέση των Βεδουίνων με τα γεράκια, που μετεξελίχθηκε από το κυνήγι σε μία τέχνη που περιβάλλεται με τιμή στα ΗΑΕ, αναφέρθηκε, από την πλευρά του, ο Rashed Alshehhi Emirates Facloners Club Abu Dhabi- Master Falconer. Όπως εξήγησε, το γεράκι έχει εξελιχθεί σε σύμβολο φιλίας και πολιτισμικής διπλωματίας, ενώνοντας λαούς, και ως ένα μέσο επαναφοράς της χαμένης σχέσης του ανθρώπου που ζει στα μεγάλα αστικά κέντρα με τη φύση. Η τέχνη της Ιερακοθηρίας αποτελεί ένα ξεχωριστό σύνολο παραδόσεων και ηθών και αποτελεί βιωματική τέχνη που μεταδίδεται από παππού σε πατέρα και γιο, υπογράμμισε.
Στην εκδήλωση μίλησε και ο Δρ Παναγιώτης Αζμάνης, εξειδικευμένος κτηνίατρος εξωτικών και άγριων ζώων και κτηνίατρος στο βασιλικό νοσοκομείο γερακιών του Ντουμπάι, ο οποίος αποτέλεσε και τον συνδετικό κρίκο των δύο αντιπροσωπειών, αναδεικνύοντας τη μακρόχρονη κοινή ιερακοθηρική παράδοση και τονίζοντας τη συμβολή της παγκόσμιας ιερακοθηρικής κοινότητας στη διατήρηση της βιοποικιλότητας και των πληθυσμών των αρπακτικών πτηνών καθώς και στην κτηνιατρική γνώση, αναπαραγωγή και επανένταξη των εκτρεφομένων και των ελεύθερα διαβιούντων αρπακτικών πτηνών.
Στην πρωτοβουλία του ελληνικού Υπουργείου Περιβάλλοντος για την ανάγκη υιοθέτησης δημόσιου συστήματος υγείας πρωτοβάθμιας και δευτεροβάθμιας περίθαλψης άγριων ζώων, με τη δημιουργία δημοσίων Νοσοκομείων Περίθαλψης Άγριας Ζωής, κατόπιν σχετικής εισήγησης της Επιτροπής Περιβάλλοντος της Βουλής, αναφέρθηκε η Διονυσία-Θεοδώρα Αυγερινοπούλου, βουλευτής Ηλείας, πρόεδρος της αρμόδιας επιτροπής του ελληνικού κοινοβουλίου.
Στο πλαίσιο της εκδήλωσης, οι δύο πλευρές συνομίλησαν για τη δυνατότητα έναρξης κοινών προγραμμάτων και ανταλλαγής κτηνιατρικής τεχνογνωσίας για την προστασία της βιοποικιλότητας, καθώς τα ΗΑΕ έχουν ήδη δύο σχετικά funds που θα μπορούσαν να στηρίξουν την ελληνική βιοποικιλότητα, όπως αναφέρθηκε.
Στην εκδήλωση ήταν παρούσα και η αντιδήμαρχος Θεσσαλονίκης, αρμόδια για θέματα πολιτισμού και τουρισμού, Μαρία Καραγιάννη, ενώ την Παγκόσμια Ομοσπονδία Ιερακοθηρίας και προστασίας αρπακτικών πτηνών εκπροσώπησε ο γενικός γραμματέας Sir Gary Timbrell και τον Σύλλογο Ελληνικής Ιερακοθηρίας ο Σταύρος Αθανασίου.
